As an energy healing practitioner and the first attorney to receive her PhD in energy medicine from Holos University, Midge has a deep understanding of both the law and alternative healing arts. This allows her to lend her expertise as a bridge between the two worlds. For over 15 years, Midge has been providing consulting services to many clients in ethics, legal issues, and risk management strategies in the practice of and training in energy healing methods. She is recognized as a dynamic presenter, teacher, and leading expert in the field.
In 2015 Midge published her ground breaking book Practice Energy Healing in Integrity; the Joy of Offering Your Gifts Legally & Ethically. She also developed an Exam based on the book, providing practitioners with the opportunity to earn a Certificate of Completion in ethics, legal issues, and risk management strategies for energy healing practitioners. In 2020, she published an expanded and updated version of the book.
Since first published, the book and related Exam have been recognized as the gold standard in ethics, legal issues, and risk management strategies in the practice of energy healing methods.
While Midge no longer practices law, she does offer professional liability risk management consulting services. Midge has combined her unique experiences as an attorney and teacher to create leading edge online and academic courses. Midge was a professor at Energy Medicine University from 2006 to 2015 and provided services as Dean of Students from 2012 to 2014. She is the author of Practice Energy Healing in Integrity; The Joy of offering your Gifts Legally & Ethically, and Ethics, Legal Issues & Risk Management Strategies for EFT Practitioners. She is the co-author of Creating Right Relationships: a Practical Guide to Ethics in Energy Therapies.
In the past, Midge sat on the ethics committee for the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (ACEP) and the advocacy/ethics committee for the American Holistic Nursing Association (AHNA).
Midge and Bear
Midge also has an energy healing practice for animals and humans. She was first trained in Therapeutic Touch as a hospice volunteer in 1996 and is a founding member of the Northwest Therapeutic Touch Institute. In 2007 Midge was initiated as a Reiki Master and in 2010 became a Certified Matrix Energetics® Practitioner. She has been a student of shamanism for over 20 years and also uses shamanic processes in her energy healing work.
In 2020 Midge became a Certified Forest Therapy Guide from the National Association of Forest Therapy Guides and Programs. She guides forest immersion walks in the forests on her land, where she enjoys sharing the healing energy of nature with her clients.
Midge has over a decade of legal and business experience in the motion picture and television industry, having served as Director of legal/business affairs for the Walt Disney Company and American Broadcasting Companies. In addition, she has served as general counsel for Patagonia and EMP America before earning her PhD in energy medicine.
Midge lives on 50 beautiful acres in the wine country south of Eugene, Oregon with her beloved cats and Bernese Mountain Dogs. She's an avid tennis player and loves to hike daily with her dogs in the hills and forests.
